What should my calibration intervals be?
Customers set their own calibration intervals – take into consideration the manufacturer’s suggested interval; how often will be the equipment be used; how critical is the PC of equipment to your company (considering if the unit is found to be out of tolerance and input of any potential recall of customer product.)
How do I know what level of calibration I will need?
This is based on your quality system requirements as well as your customer contracts.
- Standard Calibration: Traceable to NIST; performed to specification, calibration certificate provided; calibration sticker affixed to unit tested
- Calibration w/data: Same as above + before & after data provided
- ISO17025 Accredited Calibrations: Same as above + uncertainty calculations provided
- ANSI Z540.3: Same as above + guard-banding applied
